Shayla Photo Session

Candid photographs are always my favorite, because you are able to capture a true moment that seems to disappear the moment the subject is aware of the camera. While group shots and smiling portraits have their place, there is a certain magic contained in a candid shot. And I think the best candid shots are of small children. You can take close up shots of them looking right into the lens, and it still candid because they are completely unaware of what the camera is doing.
I took some shots of my cousin’s daughter on her first birthday, and here are a couple of my favorites.

Inspiration: Alex Roman

If you never saw The Third & the Seventh by Alex Roman, check it out:

And here is Alex’s newest work, a commercial piece for Silestone, which I believe is a company that makes counter tops.

Beautiful work, right? And the truly amazing part… It’s all done in 3D using 3Ds Max and post processing in After Effects. That’s right, no old cameras, no actual location footage, no real lemons or apples. Pretty impressive. And he did the Third & the Seventh by himself. Everything. Even the music score. What a talented artist. 3Ds Max founder Gary Yost said that Roman’s film justified all the work of creating the 3D software. “The Third & The Seventh was an absolute vindication of all the work we put in. To see someone so creative do something that was so lovingly crafted made it all worthwhile.”

Headshots for Gregger

My good friend Gregger Jones just left his position in production sales for an equipment house in Chicago to go run the L.A. studio of Pier 59. But not before we did a photo session. You can’t go to L.A. without some good headshots.

Hello world!

Welcome to my new blog. I am Adam Flikkema, and this is my newest creative outlet. Please read on, learn about me, and hopefully gather a bit of inspiration.

FLiK

Ready to expand my wings in the digital realm, I have started AdamFLiK.com in order to profile some of my work, ideas, and whatever else this leads to. My first website and start-up freelance design and video production company was FLiK Productions. I will most likely keep this site online, and may one day build upon and improve it. I also administrate the website for Sensory Productions, the company of which I am co founder. Please feel free to register, comment, and enjoy the site. More content is on it’s way, slowly but surely.
